FAQs

We get questions about so many things, but there are a few things that just seem to set peoples' hair on fire. Feel free to email us with any we don't address here.

No Photos policy

We live in a culture where our phones are an extension of everything we do. We get it. Retail stores are considered private property, and set certain policies to make your visit comfortable. One visitor was so upset about her "right" to take a photograph that she physically assaulted one of our senior staff members. Another recent reviewer proclaimed that the merchandise wasn't so original that they couldn't be bought elsewhere.

We've had pets have accidents, people spill their drinks or gelato, unsupervised children creating chaos, and we accommodate these things to the best of our patience. We have only one rule: please take no photographs. It's not a difficult ask, and if it's important in decision making, we are happy to bend the rule.

Why so many no photo signs?? My gosh, it's overkill! It;s because found many taking photos and their excuse was the sign was "over there" not "over here".

It's amazing how many people just don't even notice the signs. Others feel like they've been accosted by them, and that's for them to work out with their therapists. But for those who just HAVE TO KNOW why, we've listed a few below:

Privacy

Our customers and staff have a right to privacy. Especially those under 18 visiting with their parents. Pretty simple.

Security

Prevention of  individuals from recording security camera locations and access points.

Digital Theft

You haven't lived until you walked up to someone who's lined up greeting cards or art and snapped each one individually and then left. We're not a concept store, we're here to sell merchandise. Maybe you'll find it online for cheaper? Great! Commit it to memory and move on.

Or simply purchase it.

Glen Hanson

Glen Hanson's art is frequently duplicated and resold without his authorization or payment. We are one of only two licensed printers of his merchandise. What you do with it after you buy it is beyond our control. But we will ask you to refrain from photographing his art before buying it.

"Hello"

Not a photo policy, but a word about welcoming you. We do our best to welcome you when you come in. Believe it or not, you can actually get a read for each other in the way you greet each other. Sometimes we don't get a "hello" back but we promise not to run to the reviews section and have a meltdown about it...some people just want to shop and not be bothered, and that's okay. We try and go out of our way to greet you at every turn. Some of us have facial recognition issues and might even say hello a couple times. Bank it for your next visit.
